Pine wood Powerbank

The Process

  1. Chiseling the Pine

A piece of pine wood was chiseled to form an extruded 'U'-shape. Tools used were a c-clamp, a chisel and a hammer.

2. Circuit and plywood

The powerbank charging board was installed and screwed. A plywood piece was glued to the side using PVA to close the box. Holes were chiseled to fit 2 USB ports and a micro USB port.

3. Batteries and closing the box

Six 18650 lithium-ion cells were inserted into the powerbank. The top was then closed using a sheet of polyethylene plastic, glued using cyanoacrylate glue. Some linseed oil was applied to give a light finish.
